Our story

I'm Ana Ramirez, a Colombian content creator, living in Montreal, Canada.

Financial-Mess website was created to help people who are financially struggling as I was for many years. As a single mother I faced hard times, and being in a foreign country make it even harder.

I publish in social media posts about daily financial situations we are living every single day.

Why? Because in 2014 I got a good job, and everything was supposed to work but, I was feeling like falling down on a black hole without any hope of growing financially. I was living from one paycheck to another and was so difficult to put food on the table for my kids. I felt ashamed and confused.

I knew I had to do something, I knew I was doing something wrong but, I didn't have any idea of what it was ... I was questioning myself during months, because I wasn't spending money on alcohol, drugs, cigarretes, gaming, parties, shopping, I wasn't even able to pay a pizza at a restaurant for my kids.

Somewhere in my mind I had to figure it out a way to change this, because complains & tears don't solve problems, problems are to be solved, problems need solutions!

I remember I wrote down a list of every single expense I had, even the 12$ I was paying monthly in banking fees for my checking account, and ... I did a financial plan and I started changing all !

2014 is far away for me now, It took time, but it worked !

Each day, we trade our time for money, I think is time we start being more serious about the way we spend that money, because time, we can't buy it!

Recently, I found myself sharing some saving tips with a woman at the pharmacie, and that day I knew I had to share that with more people, the idea of Financial-Mess website was taking place in my mind.
